Habitat for Humanity Canada (HFHC) was set up in 1985, and has since then erected over 1800 houses. HFHC currently boasts 61 affiliates in all ten provinces. The Canadian headquarters are located in Waterloo, Ont.

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) evolved out of the work at Koinonia Farm, a Christian community near Americus, Georgia, founded by Clarence Jordan. Mr. Jordan set up a housing ministry at Koinonia Farm founded on the concept of partnership housing: building homes together with the families selected, selling them the homes at no profit, and providing interest-free mortgages.

To reinforce its identity throughout the world, Habitat for Humanity makes use of a logo that you may have noticed on the pages of this Website. There is of course the name of the organisation, identifying the affiliate if appropriate (in this case, the Montreal branch.)
