A new way of feeding the renovation bug!
Habitat ReStores are building material liquidation centres whose profits go towards Habitat for Humanity's mission, i.e. the construction of decent, affordable homes for low-income families. The ReStore carries new merchandise donated by distributors, retailers, manufacturers, and construction companies to support Habitat for Humanity's mission.
First store in Quebec
The Habitat for Humanity Montreal ReStore is the 50th to open in Canada, the 1st in the province of Quebec. First started in Winnipeg in 1989, ReStores now dot Canada and the United States. In 2008, ReStores in Canada represented sales of $23.3 million.
Save big while supporting a great cause
ReStore merchandise is usually sold at 50% off the retail price (or less!). We receive new merchandise every week. Check our latest arrivals on our blog at: www.restoremontreal.blogspot.com
An environmental mandate
ReStores not only contribute to Habitat’s mission; they also reduce the amount of construction waste that is incinerated or buried, thereby contributing to a reduction of greenhouse-gas emissions. In 2008, the Habitat for Humanity Montreal ReStore recycled 117 tons of material that would have otherwise gone to local dumping grounds.
Volunteers
Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore always needs volunteers. Whether to greet customers, pick up donations, or assemble certain articles, you would be a welcome addition to our team. If you wish to volunteer, please contact us at restore@habitatmontreal.qc.ca or at (514) 907-8991.
Donations
Retailers, distributors and manufacturers of renovation and decoration materials are invited to donate no-longer produced articles or end-of-line articles with slight imperfections to the ReStore, as well as returned merchandise or erroneously mixed paints. Thank you for your support!
